Technical Architecture & Functional Positioning
The F-PWR01 is the only power supply module approved by HIMA for use in HIMax safety systems. It is designed as a fully integrated component of the XMR architecture rather than a simple commercial PSU. Two F-PWR01 units operate in active-parallel redundancy with true diode-less load sharing via high-speed backplane signalling — eliminating single-point-of-failure risks associated with traditional OR-ing diodes.
Diagnostic data (input voltage, output current per segment, internal temperature, fan tachometer) is continuously transmitted over the safeethernet backplane to the F-CPU01, enabling predictive maintenance and early warning before any impact on system availability. In the event of one unit failing, the remaining unit instantly assumes 100 % load with zero voltage dip and reports the fault with full root-cause information.
