Technical Architecture & Functional Positioning
The F35 is the smallest complete safety controller in the HIMatrix family. It integrates the full functionality of a central rack (CPU, power supply, communication, diagnostics) into a single DIN-rail slice only 70 mm wide. Local I/O slices are simply clicked onto the right side, forming a compact node without backplane or termination boards.
All safety-critical functions — from input acquisition to logic solving to output actuation — run in the proven 1oo2D structure with continuous cross-monitoring. The safeethernet protocol provides deterministic, black-channel-safe communication with < 10 ms system reaction time even across 500 m distances.
It is positioned as the ideal solution for distributed safety applications where a full F60 rack is oversized: burner control units, ESD nodes, turbine packages, compressor stations, and offshore wellhead safety systems.
