Technical Architecture & Functional Positioning
The F6220 is HIMA’s flagship safe analog input module for the F60 generation and represents one of the few analog input cards worldwide that maintains full SIL 3 integrity while simultaneously offering transparent HART communication. Each channel uses a 1oo2D architecture with diverse sigma-delta converters and continuous cross-comparison. Line monitoring is achieved through extremely short test pulses (< 200 µs) that do not disturb the 4–20 mA loop or HART signal.
In large ESD/F&G systems, the F6220 typically handles critical transmitters (pressure, level, temperature) where both the safety function and asset-management data are required from the same field device — eliminating the need for parallel wiring or separate HART multiplexers.
