Technical Architecture & Functional Positioning

The F7126 is the cornerstone of power integrity in every HIQuad safety system. It converts the raw 24 V supply from the F7130A/F7131 energy modules into two tightly regulated, continuously monitored 20 A branches that separately feed the backplane electronics and the field I/O termination area.

In redundant HIQuad HRS configurations, two F7126 modules operate in active-active load-sharing mode with automatic current balancing and diode decoupling, guaranteeing zero voltage drop during failure of one module. The integrated diagnostic system permanently measures output voltage and current on each branch with 12-bit resolution and reports deviations via the backplane to the central CPU, enabling predictive maintenance long before a hard fault occurs.

This design eliminates the single-point-of-failure risk that exists when conventional non-monitored power supplies are used in safety loops. In practice, it reduces spurious trips caused by voltage sags and allows the system to remain fully operational even during online replacement of a failed unit.
