Description
GE Multilin MIVII1000E00HI00 is a legacy digital voltage and control protection relay that provides undervoltage (UV), overvoltage (OV), and ground overvoltage protection with configurable I/O and event recording for industrial switchboards, generators, motors, transfer systems, and busbars. Its English text HMI and flexible outputs simplify field configuration and logic assignment.
Equipped with RS-232/RS-485 communications and Modbus RTU support, it logs 24 events with millisecond timestamps and captures waveform records up to 24 cycles — useful for root-cause analysis on power systems. Typical trip response is <30 ms at 1.2× pickup for the voltage elements.
Phase 1 — Pre-Installation (est. 10 min)
De-energize panel. Wait ~5 min for capacitive discharge. Tools: insulated screwdrivers, label tags, torque driver, multimeter, laptop with EnerVista or compatible config software. Photograph existing wiring, pickup settings, and I/O assignments.
Phase 2 — Removal (est. 5 min)
Tag all field and control wiring. Loosen panel screws; slide unit straight out. Inspect backplane/connectors for oxidation or bent pins.
Phase 3 — Installation (est. 10 min)
ESD strap recommended. Confirm model and supply-range compatibility. Seat relay in rack; torque terminals ~0.5 N·m. Reconnect phase voltage inputs, digital inputs, relay outputs, and communications (RS-485). Maintain consistent shielding and ground practices.
Phase 4 — Power-On & Testing (est. 15 min)
Apply supply voltage. Observe LCD and LEDs for status. Use EnerVista or front keypad to set UV/OV pickup levels, delays, programmable outputs, and Modbus parameters. Validate relay outputs with simulated voltage conditions. Run stable protection tests >30 min; log results and update maintenance records.
Troubleshooting quick-reference:
• No comms → check RS-485 wiring and termination, baud/parity.
• False UV trips → verify CT/VT sensor wiring and pickup settings.
• No trip output → validate programmable output mapping and logic block.
