Description
ProSoft MVI56E-MNETC is a Modbus TCP/IP communication module designed for Rockwell ControlLogix systems, enabling PLCs to exchange data with Modbus-based SCADA, drives, analyzers, and remote I/O devices over Ethernet networks.
Built on the enhanced MVI56E platform, it supports multi-client and multi-server communication simultaneously (up to 30 client and 40 server connections) with configurable memory mapping up to 10,000 16-bit registers. Typical procurement lead time ranges from stock availability (1–10 days) to 4–6 weeks for configured supply depending on market conditions.
Phase 1 — Pre-Installation (est. 10 min)
Power down rack; wait 5 minutes.
Tools: screwdriver, laptop with ProSoft Configuration Builder, ESD strap, Fluke 115 multimeter.
Export PLC project. Back up existing Modbus mapping. Photograph slot and wiring.
Phase 2 — Removal (est. 5 min)
Label Ethernet and backplane references.
Pull module straight out — no twisting.
Inspect backplane pins carefully. Bent pins are a real issue.
Phase 3 — Installation (est. 10 min)
ESD protection first.
Confirm MVI56E-MNETC model.
Insert into slot; latch fully.
Connect Ethernet (shielded CAT5e/6).
Load configuration via PCB software.
Phase 4 — Power-On & Testing (est. 15 min)
Apply power.
Check LED display for IP and status.
Ping module IP.
Test Modbus read/write with SCADA or simulator.
Verify at least one full data cycle and stable comms >30 min.
