    Product Introduction

Delta Tau 602226-102 with 603605-106 forms a PMAC-VME motion-control assembly for multi-axis machine tools, semiconductor equipment, robotics, and other VME-based automation systems.

The assembly combines a VME-compatible controller board with a processor or expansion board used in PMAC architectures. Supplier descriptions associate 603605-106 with UMAC or PMAC control hardware, but the exact function depends on the host chassis, firmware, option configuration, and mating boards. Verify the OEM manual and board revision before replacement.

The available public data does not establish a complete electrical specification for this exact paired assembly. Published reseller information identifies 602226-102 with PMAC-VME motion control and associates 603605-106 with PMAC or UMAC processor hardware, but it does not replace the OEM board manual.dcssaul+1

Avoid adding unsupported values for axis count, current draw, connector pinout, or supply voltage. Match the board revision, firmware, chassis, and mating cards from the existing installation.

    Installation & Configuration Guide

    Phase 1—Pre-Installation —

De-energize the VME chassis and connected amplifiers. Wait at least 5 minutes for discharge before removing the boards.

    Prepare:

    • ESD wrist strap and grounded ESD mat.
    • Fluke 115 multimeter.
    • Insulated screwdriver set.
    • Board-extraction tool if required by the chassis.
    • Camera for jumper, switch, cable, and slot photographs.
    • PMAC backup files.
    • Board-revision and firmware records.
    • Existing VME rack layout and wiring diagram.

Export the complete PMAC configuration, motion programs, PLC programs, and parameter files. Record servo gains, motor scaling, encoder polarity, limit inputs, amplifier-enable logic, and communication settings.

Photograph the 602226-102 board, 603605-106 board, labels, jumpers, DIP switches, daughterboards, cables, and VME slot positions.

    Phase 2—Removal — estimated 10 minutes

Label all cables before disconnecting them. Confirm which connectors belong to the CPU board, expansion board, feedback interface, and external I/O.

Release the VME board retainers and pull each board straight out from the backplane. Do not rock the board aggressively; VME connector pins can bend or separate from the backplane.

Inspect the backplane connectors for bent pins, contamination, oxidation, and signs of arcing. Keep the original boards in anti-static packaging for comparison and possible recovery.
