    Product Introduction
Stable terminal voltage is essential for synchronous generators and motors under changing loads and grid conditions. The ABB UNITROL 1010 is a compact, microprocessor-based automatic voltage regulator designed for small and medium synchronous machines. It provides precise voltage regulation, rapid response to load steps, and comprehensive machine protection in a single robust unit.

Part of the UNITROL 1000 family, the 1010 delivers continuous excitation current up to 10 A DC (at 55 °C) using advanced power electronics. It supports voltage, reactive-power, power-factor and field-current control modes, includes standard limiters (OEL, UEL, V/Hz), rotating-diode monitoring and optional dual-channel configurations. Suitable for diesel, gas, hydro, industrial and marine applications. Listed price is reference only—request a quote for current market conditions.

    Installation & Configuration Guide

    Phase 1 — Pre-Installation (est. 15–20 min)
Isolate the excitation system and follow lock-out/tag-out. Tools: insulated tools, multimeter, laptop with CMT1000 commissioning software, documentation of existing PT/CT ratios and settings. Photograph all terminal connections, power wiring and communication links.

    Phase 2 — Removal (est. 10–15 min)
Label every wire. Disconnect power-stage inputs, field output, measurement PTs/CTs, auxiliary supply and communication cables. Unmount the unit from the panel or DIN rail. Cap open terminals and protect connectors.

    Phase 3 — Installation (est. 15 min)
Confirm the exact UNITROL 1010 hardware variant. Mount the unit, reconnect power, field, measurement and I/O cables exactly as photographed. Observe polarity and phase sequence.

    Phase 4 — Power-On & Testing (est. 30–45 min)
Apply auxiliary and power-stage supplies. Connect via USB or network, load or verify the parameter set with CMT1000. Check measurements, enable limiters, perform soft-start or test excitation, and verify voltage regulation and response. Run under load if possible and log the change.
