Description
Product Introduction
Bently Nevada 3500/91 is an EGD communication gateway for the 3500 Machinery Protection System. It transfers rack-monitored values, setpoints, module status, and channel status to EGD-compatible process-control systems.
For integration work, this gateway supports EGD version 2.01 over Ethernet UDP/IP at 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps. The current datasheet requires 3500 Rack Configuration Software version 3.70 or higher, a 3500/22M TDI, and TDI firmware version 1.20 or higher.
The EGD version must not be confused with the 3500/92 Modbus gateway. Baker Hughes lists the 3500/91 as the EGD gateway, while the 3500/92 handles Modbus communication.
The order code matters. The format is 3500/91-AA-BB-CC: the main module type, Ethernet I/O module type, and agency approval option. Available I/O choices include 10BASE-T / 100BASE-TX copper and 100BASE-FX fiber.
Installation & Configuration Guide
Phase —Pre-Installation —
De-energize the rack and connected control circuits. Wait at least 5 minutes for stored energy to discharge before handling the module or rear I/O assembly.
Prepare:
- ESD wrist strap and grounded ESD mat.
- Fluke 115 multimeter.
- Insulated screwdriver set.
- Approved Ethernet cable.
- Laptop with 3500 Rack Configuration Software.
- Existing rack configuration backup.
- Current 3500/22M TDI firmware record.
- Camera for slot, wiring, and switch-setting photographs.
Export the rack configuration and record the existing IP address, gateway settings, exchange groups, and data map. Photograph the rack layout, front module, rear I/O module, network cable, and any agency approval label.
