Product Introduction
Output commands fail at the worst moments in engine automation. The Kongsberg RDO-8 provides 8 digital output channels to control solenoids, alarms, and actuators. It connects via redundant bus to Kongsberg K-Chief and similar marine platforms.
This compact module supports relay or solid-state outputs depending on configuration. It operates reliably from −15 to +70 °C with per-channel status LEDs. In field deployments, pluggable terminals speed up replacements. Bottom line — it executes commands cleanly under harsh conditions.
Installation & Configuration Guide
Phase 1 — Pre-Installation (est. 10 min): De-energize the cabinet. Wait 5 minutes. Export configuration. Photograph wiring, bus connections, and settings. Gather torque screwdriver, wrist strap, Fluke 115 multimeter.
Phase 2 — Removal (est. 5 min): Label wires and bus cables. Unplug terminals. Release DIN rail latch. Pull module straight out. Inspect connectors.
Phase 3 — Installation (est. 10 min): Apply ESD protection. Verify part number. Replicate settings from photos. Seat until latch clicks. Torque terminals to 0.5 N·m. Confirm bus termination.
Phase 4 — Power-On & Testing (est. 15 min): Supply 24 V DC within tolerance. Check power and status LEDs. Connect to host. Verify all 8 outputs. Test one full control loop. Run stable for 30+ minutes and log.
Troubleshooting quick-reference: No comms → check bus cables, termination, node address. ERR LED → power or output overload. Output not activating → confirm load and configuration.
