Control systems go blind when mixed I/O modules quit under vibration and salt air. The Kongsberg RDIOR420 306713 delivers 16 configurable solid-state channels plus 16 relay outputs in one compact unit. It connects via redundant RBUS to K-Chief and other Kongsberg automation platforms on ships and rigs.
This hybrid design mixes fast solid-state I/O with relay isolation for higher power loads. It runs on 24 V DC and handles −15 to +70 °C with full diagnostics. In field deployments, the pluggable terminals and clear status LEDs make troubleshooting quick. Bottom line — it gives flexible control without extra modules.
Installation & Configuration Guide
Phase 1 — Pre-Installation (est. 10 min): De-energize the I/O rack. Wait 5 minutes. Back up configuration. Photograph all wiring, RBUS connections, and channel settings. Collect tools: torque screwdriver, wrist strap, Fluke 115 multimeter.
Phase 2 — Removal (est. 5 min): Label wires and RBUS cables. Unplug terminals. Release DIN rail latch. Pull the module straight out. Inspect D-Sub connectors.
Phase 3 — Installation (est. 10 min): Use ESD protection. Match exact part number. Replicate all settings from photos. Seat firmly until latched. Torque terminals to 0.4–0.5 N·m. Confirm redundant RBUS wiring.
Phase 4 — Power-On & Testing (est. 15 min): Apply 24 V DC within range. Check power and communication LEDs. Connect to host system. Verify all 32 channels. Test one full control loop. Run stable for 30+ minutes and record the swap.
Troubleshooting quick-reference: No comms → check RBUS cables, termination, and node address. ERR LED → power issue or channel overload. Relay not switching → confirm configuration and load rating.
