Vibration and humidity take down mixed I/O cards faster than expected on marine platforms. The Kongsberg RDIOR420-32 306713 packs 16 software-configurable solid-state DI/DO channels together with 16 relay outputs. It links via redundant RBUS to K-Chief and similar systems for engine control and auxiliary monitoring.
This hybrid layout gives both fast response on solid-state points and isolation on relays for heavier loads up to 8 A. It operates from −15 to +70 °C with built-in diagnostics. In field deployments, pluggable terminals reduce downtime during swaps. Bottom line — it balances flexibility and reliability.
Installation & Configuration Guide
Phase 1 — Pre-Installation (est. 10 min): De-energize the rack. Wait 5 minutes. Export configuration. Photograph wiring, RBUS connections, and channel setups. Prepare torque screwdriver, wrist strap, Fluke 115 multimeter.
Phase 2 — Removal (est. 5 min): Label all wires and RBUS cables. Unplug terminals. Release DIN rail latch. Pull module straight out. Inspect D-Sub pins.
Phase 3 — Installation (est. 10 min): Apply ESD protection. Verify part number. Replicate settings from photos. Seat until latch clicks. Torque to 0.4–0.5 N·m. Confirm redundant RBUS wiring.
Phase 4 — Power-On & Testing (est. 15 min): Supply 24 V DC in range. Check LEDs. Connect to host. Verify all 32 channels. Test one complete control loop. Run stable 30+ minutes then log.
Troubleshooting quick-reference: No comms → inspect RBUS cables, termination, node address. ERR LED → power or overload condition. Relay fails → check load rating and software config.
