    Product Introduction

A controller failure in a distributed control network can halt entire processing lines and trigger unexpected system trips. The METSO DPU-MR delivers continuous real-time control, sensor telemetry handling, and reliable redundancy across harsh industrial environments. Built specifically for Metso DNA control architectures, it installs directly into standard system racks without requiring panel adjustments or custom wiring adapters.

In field deployments across power generation, pulp and paper, and mineral processing facilities, this unit maintains seamless sub-second failover between master and standby controllers. The METSO DPU-MR integrates smoothly into existing Metso DNA backbones to keep continuous process operations running without interruption. Listed prices serve as a baseline market reference; actual costs depend on global surplus availability and current lead times. Contact our procurement team directly to request an exact quote.

    Installation & Configuration Guide

    Phase 1 — Pre-Installation (est. 10 min)

De-energize cabinet power lines feeding the target rack segment. Wait 5 minutes for internal bus capacitors to fully discharge. Gather a small flathead screwdriver, torque driver, anti-static wrist strap, and digital multimeter. Export active control logic backup files and node allocation tables using the Metso DNA Engineering Environment. Take clear photos of all terminal connections, Ethernet cables, and fieldbus wiring on the active METSO DPU-MR unit.

    Phase 2 — Removal (est. 5 min)

Label every network cable and fieldbus plug with port tags before disconnecting them. Unplug redundant 24 V DC power connectors by loosening their side locking screws. Release the module rack latches or DIN-rail retaining clips on the front panel. Gently pull the unit straight out of its backplane slot along its mounting tracks. Inspect the rack backplane connectors for bent pins or debris.

    Phase 3 — Installation (est. 10 min)

Put on your ESD wrist strap and attach its grounding clamp to the grounded enclosure frame. Remove the replacement METSO DPU-MR from its protective ESD bag. Check the side label and serial number against your bill of materials. Align the module housing with the rack slot guides and push it firmly into the backplane until the retention latches snap securely into place. Wire power terminal plugs according to your tags, torquing terminal screws to ~0.4 N·m. Reconnect Ethernet cables and fieldbus plugs.
