Product Introduction
The MOOG G761-3033B is a 2-stage electrohydraulic flow control servo valve from the G761/761 series, designed for high-dynamic position, speed, pressure, or force control in industrial hydraulic systems. It uses a nozzle-flapper pilot stage with mechanical feedback (MFB) to achieve <16 ms step response and hysteresis <3%—ideal for injection molding machines, steel mill roll-gap control, and turbine governor systems.
In field deployments of 350 bar hydraulic power units, this valve stands out for its closed-center 4-way sliding spool and carbide-tipped feedback wire—critical for zero leakage at null and sub-micron positioning accuracy. The ISO 4401 Size 04 mounting pattern (CETOP 04) makes it a drop-in replacement for Rexroth 4WRPE, Vickers KBDG, and Parker D1F series valves. If you’re upgrading from a legacy 761-3033B, the G761-3033B is electrically and hydraulically identical—same 40 mA coil, same 19 l/min flow curve, same 310 bar steel body.
Installation & Configuration Guide
Phase 1—Pre-Installation (est. 10 min)
De-energize the hydraulic system and isolate the pressure line. Wait 5 min for pressure bleed-off. Grab a Torx T20, wire strippers, and a Fluke 115 multimeter. Export your current servo amplifier configuration (±10 V or 4–20 mA) and photograph the existing valve’s wiring, mounting bolts, and P/T/A/B ports.
Phase 2—Removal (est. 5 min)
Label every hose before disconnecting—P (pressure), T (tank), A/B (actuator). Release the 4× M6 mounting bolts, pull the valve straight out perpendicular to the manifold, and inspect the O-rings for nicks or corrosion.
Phase 3—Installation (est. 10 min)
Strap on your ESD wristband. Verify the part number matches G761-3033B. Replicate the wiring from your photos—±10 V or 4–20 mA, shield ground. Seat the valve on the manifold, torque M6 bolts to 10–12 N·m, reconnect the hydraulic hoses (DN10 minimum for 19 l/min), then run a pre-power checklist: coil resistance (40 mA ±10%), insulation resistance (>10 MΩ @ 500 V DC), P/T/A/B port alignment.
Phase 4—Power-On & Testing (est. 15 min)
Verify supply voltage is ±10 V DC or 4–20 mA. Power up the servo amplifier and apply 0% command—spool should center (null). Apply 100% command—verify 19 l/min flow @ 35 bar ΔP. Log at least 30 min of stable operation before signing off.
Troubleshooting quick-reference:
- No motion → check coil resistance, amplifier gain, null bias
- Oscillation → reduce amplifier gain, check for air in lines, verify oil viscosity
- Over-temperature → check oil cleanliness (10 µm filter), ambient temperature
