Description
Product Introduction
Thermal stress and gate-driver degradation inside medium-voltage drive cabinets frequently lead to intermittent overcurrent trips or phase imbalances. The MVDL1000‑4701 CONVERTEAM power controller module resolves power-stage switching failures by delivering precise, fiber-optically isolated gate firing pulses across liquid-cooled MV7000 converter bridges. Engineered for heavy industrial applications like marine propulsion, rolling mills, and high-power pumps, this board maintains tight switching synchronization under high dynamic loads.
Field logs from industrial plants confirm that replacing a degraded power module eliminates nuisance gate-fault trips and stabilizes motor current control. Swapping out aging firing circuitry restores clean phase balance and protects high-power IGBT/IGCT assemblies from catastrophic commutation failures. Frankly, running worn gate control boards in high-voltage drive stacks is an expensive gamble that risks long production downtime. This unit ships fully pre-tested from surplus warehouse stock, allowing maintenance engineers to clear drive fault codes before scheduled restarts.

Installation & Configuration Guide
Phase 1 — Pre-Installation (est. 10 min) De-energize the main medium-voltage circuit breaker and auxiliary control power feeds. Wait a minimum of 15 to 20 minutes for high-voltage DC bus capacitors to discharge safely below 50V DC. Verify zero voltage using an appropriately rated high-voltage detector and a digital multimeter. Put on an ESD grounding wrist strap. Photograph all fiber-optic connections, wiring looms, and onboard jumper/DIP switch settings before touching the original card.
Phase 2 — Removal (est. 5 min) Carefully disconnect all fiber-optic cables by depressing their connector release tabs—avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling force. Unplug copper terminal blocks for auxiliary power and feedback signals. Unfasten faceplate retaining screws securing the board to the drive assembly, then carefully slide the card out from its chassis guides.
