REC670 is built around three parallel layers:

  • Protection layer: overcurrent, earth fault, voltage, frequency, breaker failure

    System role in a substation

    You will not find REC670 in a busbar protection role (that is REB670 territory). Instead:

    Typical deployment points:

    • Feeder outgoing bays (11–400 kV depending on utility design)
    • Bus coupler / bus section breaker bays
    • Transformer HV/MV side control bays
    • Industrial intake substations

    It is often the “logic center” of a bay, not the protection core of the busbar.
