Running an ELAU PacDrive system and need a drop-in replacement? The ELAU SR-058/60/005/P0/21/M1/B0/T (19201602-549) is the 58 mm flange synchronous AC servomotor designed for high-dynamic positioning in packaging, printing, and textile machinery.
This unit delivers 1.0 Nm standstill torque at 6000 RPM with 230 VAC three-phase supply, using resolver feedback for precise rotor position detection. In field deployments of PacDrive SR systems, we’ve seen this motor handle 50,000+ start-stop cycles without the cogging you get on induction servos. The “M1” mechanical brake option means it holds position on vertical axes—critical for lift-and-place or Z-axis applications.
Installation & Configuration Guide
Phase 1—Pre-Installation (est. 10 min)
De-energize the servo drive. Wait 5 minutes for capacitor discharge. Grab a 230 VAC multimeter, 24 V DC brake supply tester, ESD wrist strap, and a camera. Export the current PacDrive configuration. Photograph the existing motor wiring, resolver cable, and brake connector—photo, photo, photo.
Phase 2—Removal (est. 5 min)
Label every power, resolver, and brake cable before disconnecting. Remove the motor mounting bolts (4× M5 or M6). Slide the motor out carefully, keeping the resolver cable intact. Inspect the coupling or gearbox for wear or backlash.
Phase 3—Installation (est. 10 min)
Strap on your ESD gear. Verify the part number matches SR-058/60/005/P0/21/M1/B0/T. Apply anti-seize compound to the shaft. Mount the motor to the flange, torque bolts to ~5 N·m (M5) or ~8 N·m (M6). Reconnect power cables (U, V, W phase order), resolver cable (observe pinout), and brake cable (24 V DC). Run a pre-power checklist: supply voltage 230 VAC ±10%, brake supply 24 V DC, ground continuity, no loose strands.
Phase 4—Power-On & Testing (est. 15 min)
Apply 230 VAC ±10% to the servo drive. Apply 24 V DC to the brake (release). Open PacDrive configuration software (Motion Controller or similar). Verify the motor parameters (torque constant, inertia, resolver offset) match the datasheet. Run a functional test: jog the axis at 10% speed, verify smooth rotation; command 100% speed, verify no overshoot; engage brake (remove 24 V DC), verify motor holds position. Confirm stable operation for at least 30 minutes. Log the swap in your maintenance record.
