    Product Introduction

    The RELIANCE SS4437 is a regenerative converter from the SS4000 series. It manages DC bus voltage while returning braking energy from connected inverters back to the AC supply.

    Traditional braking resistors waste that energy as heat. This unit pushes it back onto the line — continuous regeneration, not pulsed. Input power factor stays at 0.95 or higher thanks to full phase synchronization with the PWM waveform. That matters when your facility meters reactive power.

     

    Installation & Configuration Guide

    Phase 1 — Pre-Installation (est. 20 min)
    De-energize the main disconnect and verify zero voltage at the DC bus terminals with a Fluke 115. Wait 5 minutes for capacitor discharge. Photograph terminal connections and DIP/jumper settings. Record the model number and any revision suffix — SS4437 and SS4437P differ in parallel configuration capability.
