Description
Product Introduction
In heavy power generation and petrochemical facilities, unmonitored shaft vibration on critical turbomachinery can lead to catastrophic bearing failures. The Vibro-Meter VM600 AMC8 resolves this vulnerability by delivering high-density dynamic signal acquisition and real-time machinery protection inside 19-inch VM600 rack frames.
Installed alongside matching signal processing modules, the Vibro-Meter VM600 AMC8 processes raw signals from proximity probes, accelerometers, and velocity sensors across 8 independent channels. Swapping out a degraded card with a factory-tested spare restores continuous alarm monitoring and transient data capture during critical machine speed changes.
Key Selling Points & Differentiators
- Parallel DSP-driven sampling across all 8 channels guarantees simultaneous phase-locked vibration spectrum collection without channel-to-channel multiplexing delays.
- Every spare Vibro-Meter VM600 AMC8 card undergoes a complete 5-point quality check, including 500 V megger isolation tests and a continuous 24-hour thermal burn-in run.
- Onboard hardware self-diagnostics continuously execute line fault detection (OK meter processing) to trigger automated alert contacts instantly during sensor cable breaks.
- Not recommended for standalone deployment without the matching IOC8T rear input/output card and VM600 rack backplane assembly.
- Manufactured in strict compliance with API 670 guidelines for machinery protection systems.
Standard Quality Control Procedure
To ensure immediate operational capability upon field installation, each unit passes a documented 5-step quality verification process:
- Incoming Inspection: Traceability validation against shipping manifests, visual check for card edge connector wear or PCB trace aging, and serial number cross-referencing against manufacturer databases.
- Live Functional Test: Insertion into a calibrated VM600 test chassis. The module undergoes power-on self-check LED verification, backplane handshake confirmation, multi-channel 0–10 V and 4–20 mA signal injection across all 8 processing paths, and a 24-hour continuous burn-in run with thermal tracking. Full test reports and video footage are supplied upon request.
- Electrical Parameter Tests: Insulation resistance checks using a 500 V megger to confirm >10 MΩ isolation between power rails and frame ground, alongside supply rail voltage stability checks.
- Firmware / Configuration Verification: Digital readout and recording of onboard DSP firmware builds (e.g., V2.4.0) and jumper matrix positions prior to packaging.
- Final QC + Packaging: Final engineering sign-off, sealing inside anti-static ESD bags, multi-layer bubble wrap wrapping, heavy-duty carton packing, and attachment of a dated “QC Passed” label. Passed the above checks; verified functional at time of test.
