Installation & Configuration Guide
Phase 1 — Pre-Installation (est. 10 min)

- Fluke 115 multimeter
- ESD wrist strap and grounded mat
- Torque screwdriver
- Cable labels
- Inspection flashlight
- Camera or phone
Back up these items first:

- Firmware revision records
- Rack layout photographs
- DIP switch and jumper settings
- Communication addressing data

Phase 2 — Removal (est. 5 min)
Label every terminal and communication cable before disconnecting.
Then:
- Release retaining latches carefully
- Pull module perpendicular to backplane
- Avoid twisting the PCB during removal
- Inspect connector pins immediately
- Check for oxidation or thermal discoloration
One utility-site outage still comes to mind. A technician rushed the removal process and slightly bent the backplane connector cage. The replacement module tested perfectly. Communication faults continued until the rack damage was discovered hours later.
