Product Introduction

ABB REU615E-E is a compact numerical voltage protection and control relay developed for medium-voltage and high-voltage power distribution systems requiring dependable voltage supervision, frequency protection, and advanced substation automation capability.

As part of ABB’s Relion® 615 family, the relay integrates protection, control, monitoring, disturbance recording, and communication functions into a withdrawable IED platform suitable for both new substations and retrofit modernization projects. The 615 series was engineered around IEC 61850 interoperability, enabling efficient communication between protection relays, SCADA systems, and digital substation devices.

REU615E-E supports both voltage/frequency-based protection schemes and transformer voltage regulation applications depending on the selected configuration. Compared with earlier ABB 610-series relays, the 615 platform adds IEC 61850 Edition 2 support, configurable logic, advanced disturbance recording, process bus capability, and improved HMI functionality.
